Day #3
Asakusa is on the north-east outskirts of Tokyo. A wonderful district - completely different from the other ones. The most famous attraction in Asakusa is the Kaminarimon with its giant chōchin (lantern) and the five-storied pagoda. We met there a japanese friend, who showed us hidden spots with awesome cherry blossom sights, which tourists usually do not visit - in Tokyo a rare species anyway. Ginza is known as an upmarket area, with lots of boutiques and restaurants. After visiting the 'Bathing Ape' store, where Kanye West shot his 'stronger' video we walked through Roppongi. An area which is well known for its (quite expensive) night club scene, the Tokyo Tower and of course the Roppongi Hills. Especially in this district you can find a high percantage of foreigners. Probably one of the few areas which might get dangerous, but it does't.
You can find in Roppongi and in Shinjuku members of the Yakuza, one of the most famous and biggest organized crime groups in the world.
